Gary began playing guitar in the spring of 1982 and was hooked right from the start. Within a year and a half, he was playing in bar bands at the age of 18. He has played in heavy metal, 50's & 60's, funk, and classic rock bands. He started out in the midwest playing clubs in the southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois area. After that, he moved to England for a while and was fortunate enough to play in the Cambridge and New Market area pubs.
He and his wife, Flora, and two sons, moved to Newport News in January 2002. He met Mike and Buck in August 2003 and didn't become a member of Full Throttle until January 2004. He swears that Full Throttle is without a doubt, his favorite music to play. Gary says, "It doesn't get any better than this; playing guitar, hanging out with the band, drinking beer, and having fun." Don't take his word for it, come out to one of their gigs and see if you can tell which one is Gary. It's not hard, he's the tall guy who can't stop smiling!
